Shanghai Community International School (SCIS) is proud to be a part of a fantastic 2021 cohort of International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma students from Shanghai, Asia Pacific, and across the globe who are celebrating incredible results.

Schools across the city and the region are reporting historical highs for pass rates, averages, subject point scores, percentage of students scoring 40+ points, and individual achievements. SCIS is no exception posting new highs in all categories including a pass rate of 100%. With an outstanding average point of 37 being four points higher than the world average!

As an IB world school that values International Mindedness, a central pillar of which is multilingualism, we are proud to announce that an amazing 40% of our graduating class earned a Bilingual Diploma!

Our incredibly strong IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), which is entering its sixth year at SCIS, benefits students as they enter and complete the IB Diploma Programme (DP) in our Upper School at SCIS. This exemplifies the research that shows students who enter the diploma having been in the MYP do better than their peers who have not had the benefit of the approaches to teaching and learning and rigor of this continuum as taught by our teachers.

We are most proud of our Diploma Programme for being diverse and inclusive; SCIS encourages every student to attempt a full diploma. We work hard to support students through the very best approaches to teaching and learning as well as social-emotional support and a focus on the whole student with creativity, action, and service opportunities.

For the third year in a row, we are celebrating another perfect score for the IBDP results. We would like to congratulate Claire Tai for achieving a perfect score of 45. Claire has been at SCIS since Kindergarten, making her a Golden Dragon, a student who has been at SCIS for eight or more years. She joins an amazing graduating class of 18 Golden Dragons representing our diverse community.

Prepared for the Future

This academic success has been the catalyst for our SCIS Class of 2021 as they attend top universities and colleges around the world. Our graduates will make their way to some of the world’s leading programs this year with acceptances coming in from top universities in thirteen countries around the world.

Our entire faculty, administration, and school community are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication the class of 2021 has shown as they progressed through the IBDP program. They have proven that they will continue to make a positive and profound impact on their future academic and professional communities.
